This is a little un-nerving. It is the path we walk to the future, the unknown. What is waiting for us at the end, if there even is an end? While all looks pretty and tranquil, what is waiting behind the bushes? Are there thorns among the flowers? Do we dare to find out?

Thank you Gypsy for taking the time to write a little something about the photo of the month.

Yes, I understand what you are seeing or feeling from the photo. While the lushness and the green looks so nice, it could certainly be in disguise of something else.  You just never know in this life because it could look all nice on the outside, and who knows what lies beyond the point of what appears to be pleasant or nice. The part that I was mostly unsure of, is the bottom section where the ground looks like a tree. For some reason, that was quite peculiar to me and the longer that I look at it, the more I don't understand what it is, (unless it's a reflection of some sort), and it causes a tad of hesitation to explore any further, lol. So, I get where you are coming from. I also don't know what those red things are that are hanging off of the arch in different spots. I'm not sure if they are friendly birds or foe, or what exactly they are. The other thing that I found myself looking at for quite a while, is the green ground. I've never seen a drawing or a painting or anything like that at all in the way it's been done. I find that part the most interesting of all. It almost looks like jello or something nice that you would like to emerge yourself into, but then on second thougt, would it be like quicksand. It's so intriguing, because again, I've never seen anything painted like it before and it also left me thinking about the texture of it too. On the other hand, I do find the bushes to be quite lovely, and could see how perhaps it could draw one in, to be willing to explore further.

When I first found this pic, my initial impression was,,,I thought it was really nice and looked like such an inviting place. However, when you really take a closer look and concentrate on it a bit, there certainly seems to be other dimensions to explore.  As it is with all art, at least it's a conversation piece, and I would be so curious to hear more impressions of it. Thanks again for participating...

After reading your post, Sea/Sky, and taking another look at the picture, the center is more like a rocky gorge filled with spikes. And I now see two people-ish figures at the far end.

Who knows what I may find if I look again in another month?
