Date Posted:08/10/2011 6:39 PMCopy HTML I've been interested in this for a few years now but had no idea where to start - so hunting through YouTube I found this beginners video soooooo Polly is going to give it a try. I have already got a small travel iron (will have to find the right temp tho) Ive got the cards AND I have also found out that there is a cheaper way of doing it by using crayons instead of wax blocks (this makes Polly a happy bunny lol). I will have a go in the next week or so and post up my 'picture' for you to see (good or bad!) I have also added the UT video link below

Re:Encaustic Art Date Posted:08/17/2011 4:19 AMCopy HTML Polly, you never cease to amaze me. That video was so awesome, that I almost posted in the "Simply Awesome Section",,,in order to share it with others there too. I am into the arts and have been my entire life. I also took four years of classes in art during my school years and never saw this particular form of creating art before. It was so detailed and really showed everyone how to do each type of technique in creating various designs fairly thoroughly. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I really enjoyed it and it would be so much fun to give it a go. Thanks again... :)
Luv, Sky |

Re:Encaustic Art Date Posted:08/20/2011 3:10 PMCopy HTML Wow, that looks really cool. It reminds me of what I would think the moon's surface would look like. You also captured a very nice pic of it!

Re:Encaustic Art Date Posted:08/21/2011 5:02 AMCopy HTML Yes, I do see that and several other very interesting things too. I also see on the right-hand side going towards the top area,,,what appears to be a mother and child and it looks as though they are both cradled inside of a beautiful harp. I see that very clearly, with no need to strain at all. It's right there in clear view. The second one you've created, for some reason, reminds me of creation or in the beginning when the earth was just beginning to form, with leafty greens and rock formations and crystals and ice,,,,just mostly all of what it takes to make up our planet and the newly forming and powerful ocean waves right in the center. It's amazing what some of these artistic creations turn out and reveal. I see in this particular second one though, a very powerful and colorful expression of our life force. Very interesting stuff Polls...and I'm so glad you are having so much fun with it too... :) I had to come back and edit this message, because in the second one,,,I also see a woman's face,,,it's almost in the center of your color art,,,just a little bit to the left side and a little bit lower than the middle. Her face is very expressive. She has large eyelids and reminds me of a person from the Inca family. I'm really diggin' this stuff, Polly. Thanks,,,lol. |
